About R. M. Gullett

R. M. Gullett, PhD
Writer, Designer, Salesperson
Passionate about Finding & Telling Stories
I earned my Bachelors in Psychology (minor in mathematics) from one of the top four ranked liberals arts colleges in America, Pomona College. Upon graduation, I received the department's highest honor, The Psychology Prize, and then went on to earn a PhD in Social Psychology (focus in Quantitative Methods) from internationally renowned New York University.

In addition to my academic achievements, I ran one of the "101 Best Wineries in America" ... at least according to the Daily Meal's wine experts, a title earned during my tenure. My other accomplishments included:
-
doubling E-commerce sales,
-
increasing Tasting Room sales by 28%,
-
increasing Club Membership by 30%, &
-
earning my CMS1 Sommelier certification.
Since then, I've designed wine labels and sent hundreds of marketing emails, including in-depth ghostwritten letters from winery owners.

Fun Facts about Me
I used to be a competitive volleyball player.
I played indoor volleyball in college, and as an adult, I transitioned to beach volleyball. I've won tournaments while facing off against players ranked at the highest amateur levels. These days, I play more casually and channel that competitive spirit into sales design.

And I Grew up in the Wine Business
I've been taking wine sales calls since I was eight years old.
The only thing that calms me more than a late summer walk down the vines is year-round access to the ocean. That's how I ended up in San Francisco with my partner and my dog, Poe. We're not too far from where my parents grew up, and wine country's a short drive away.
